“The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me. ”After the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “’Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him."
“So they took Jesus away. There they nailed him to the cross...And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover and since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.”
In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!
