Our Response to "Spirit Revelation Ecclesia"

Recently, we have become aware of a group calling themselves Spirit Revelation Ecclesia. After reviewing publicly available statements from this movement, we want to issue a pastoral warning.

While this group uses Christian language, there are serious theological errors that are inconsistent with historic Christian faith rooted in the teaching of the Bible and the confession of the global church.

1. Distortion of the Gospel

The group teaches a “gospel of immortality” that promises physical death will be overcome in the present age through special revelation or spiritual technique.

Christian faith teaches that:

  • Physical death is part of the fallen human condition.

  • Eternal life is ultimately fulfilled in resurrection at Christ’s return.

Our hope is not escape from death now, but resurrection and redemption in God’s timing.

2. Human Authority Elevated to Divine Status

The group appears to centre its teaching around a figure described as the “Bondservant” John Anosike with claims of unique access to heavenly realms and revelation.

Christian doctrine warns against placing any human leader as:

  • Custodian of exclusive spiritual knowledge

  • Necessary mediator between believers and God

  • Possessor of superior spiritual ontology

The New Testament teaches that Christ alone is the head of the church.

3. Unbiblical Teaching on Physical Immortality

Statements such as:

  • “Building a generation that will not see physical death”

  • “Mistakes impossible”

  • “Sickness impossible”

  • “Covid-19 impossible”

represent theological claims that go beyond biblical promise.

The Christian hope is not the denial of suffering, sickness, or death in the present world, but trust in God’s sovereignty and ultimate restoration.

Even faithful believers, including apostles, experienced sickness, suffering, and physical death.

4. Mystical and Gnostic-Style Spirituality

The language of:

  • Out-of-body ascension at will

  • Exclusive “realms” accessible through the movement

  • Spiritual elites as a “tribe” separated from other believers

resembles historically rejected teachings that separate salvation from the historical, incarnational gospel of Christ.

Christian faith is rooted in the real historical work of Jesus Christ, not in secret spiritual ascent.

5. Theological Concern: New Revelation Superseding Scripture

Any teaching that implies:

  • New prophetic revelation overrides the teaching of Scripture

  • Special individuals possess final spiritual authority

should be treated with great caution.

The church has historically affirmed that the revelation of Christ is complete in the apostolic witness.

We would discourage any and all engagement with Spirit Revelation Ecclesia & Roar Centre Ministries
